Who Are We?

Cody and Katherine travelers at Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, CambodiaOur names are Cody and Katherine and we have been traveling together since we first met as teenagers. We first began traveling in the U.S. together when we were young and eventually broadened our horizons internationally. We have now backpacked all over Central America and South America, as well as much of the Caribbean. We have also traveled all across North and Southeast Asia together and have been staying the winters away from Colorado in Mexico. We have both traveled independently as well, but I mostly like to write about our travel journeys together.

We both graduated from Colorado State University and have been happily married for 10 years and counting. We now have two children who are already collecting stamps in their own passports. We have a dog named Palo who misses us when we are gone. We are outdoorsy people who enjoy hiking, biking, skateboarding, and gardening. We love food, whether that means trying every restaurant in a town, or cooking a new recipe for ourselves that we learned on our travels. We once owned and operated a food truck together where me made Argentinian empanadas inspired by the time we spent there. Now I am a full time marketing professional, specializing in SEO and Katherine is a full time mom.

Traveling as a couple is an amazing way to see the world because you soak up twice as much of the experience and you always have somebody to share those memories with. We have had two children since we started this adventure together and now our travels include them as well. Traveling with kids has it’s challenges, but you also make a lot more friends because you something in common with everyone.

Disclaimer: All of the information you see on this website comes from my own personal travel experiences. I do not write about things I didn’t personally experience. Most all of those experiences have included my girlfriend, now wife. If I don’t describe something the way it was for you, that is because I had a different experience than you did. I am not a travel expert or “influencer.” The main purpose of this blog is to document and share my own experiences. Most of the advice I do give revolves around doing things on the cheap and getting off the beaten path. Ultimately, it is your own journey. For some people that means hitchhiking and camping on the beach and for other people that means staying in a resort and going on guided tours. We are all just having fun going somewhere different.
